About
The Comic Book Museum, housed in former wine cellars along the Charente River, invites you on a journey through the history and art of international comics and features temporary exhibitions year-round.
The entire history of French-language and American comics, a collection unique in Europe, is presented in a stunning 1,300-square-meter exhibition space. Over 400 original panels, prints, and drawings, along with vintage editions, promotional items, toys, and film clips, allow you to explore the full heritage of the Ninth Art.
The exhibition, punctuated by reading areas, also features an edutainment space for children called "My Little Museum", allowing 4- to 12-year-olds to discover the conventions of comics through games, original panels from children’s series, costumes, a comic strip creation station, reading nooks, and a coloring area.
As a complement to the display cases, the museum features a dozen audiovisual segments: clips from animated films created by authors or inspired by comic book characters, interviews with creators, footage showing authors at work, and documentaries highlighting historical moments related to comics.

Opening hours
- Open on holidays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- In July and August, open until 7 p.m.
- Open during the International Comics Festival (late January).
- Annual closures: January 1, May 1, and December 25.
Prices
- Full price: €10.
- Reduced rate: €6 (with proof of eligibility).
Students, apprentices, job seekers, large family card holders, seniors 60+, disability card holders and their companion, Maison des Artistes card holders, Education Pass holders, Cezam card holders, CNAS card holders, Loisirs & Services card holders, Gîtes de France Privilege Pass holders, adult groups (10+ people). - Free: (upon presentation of valid ID).
Children under 18, recipients of minimum social benefits, comic book authors, ICOM/ICOMOS cardholders, Cité subscribers, AMBD members, press cardholders, tour guides, Culture Card holders. - Groups: €5 (for groups of 10 or more adults).
Admission to the Comic Book Museum is free on the first Sunday of every month (except July and August).
