Swimming in the Grande Prairie Lake

If you're looking for a nice place to cool off this summer, look no further than the Plan d'Eau de la Grande Prairie in Saint-Yrieix-sur-Charente! Located just a few minutes from Angoulême, this spot is a true haven of peace for swimming enthusiasts and outdoor recreation lovers.

The swimming area is strictly supervised to ensure everyone’s safety from July 1 through August 31, daily from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the shoulder season (June and September), it is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Outside these hours, swimming is still permitted but unsupervised, which requires extra caution, especially for children.

For your convenience, the beach is equipped with showers, restrooms, and changing rooms.
