Angoulême Fair

In Angoulême, the fair is one of those events that give the city its most authentic rhythm. Twice a month, stalls and street vendors take over Rue Pierre Aumaitre, carrying on a popular tradition that blends everyday goods, social gatherings, and local craftsmanship.

The fair is held on the 2nd and 15th of each month. If either of these dates falls on a Sunday or a holiday, the market is postponed to the following day.

For visitors, it’s a particularly pleasant way to discover Angoulême off the beaten path: as you stroll among the stalls, you’ll find that quiet dialogue between the city and its region, between local customs and the traveler’s curiosity.

The fair naturally extends into the neighborhood markets, which are true reflections of daily life in Angoulême. The city has several of them, each with its own unique atmosphere.
