Fléac Market

A few kilometers west of Angoulême, the Fléac market is a popular local gathering place known for its friendly atmosphere and spirit of local commerce. Located on Marktbreit Square, in the heart of the shopping district, it offers residents and visitors a market on a human scale that’s easily accessible and has nearby parking.

This food market showcases fresh produce and local expertise. Vendors include butchers, delis, fishmongers (offering oysters), poultry sellers, farmers, and local food producers. Every third Sunday of the month, local producers round out the selection with items such as honey, goat cheese, flour, pasta, legumes, oils, and artisanal cookies.

In addition to the regular market, Fléac occasionally hosts a “Marché des Producteurs de Pays”, a festive event dedicated exclusively to local producers. Held in the evening, it allows visitors to meet the producers in person, discover their specialties, and enjoy a culinary experience featuring local Charente products.

Located between the Charente Valley and the Angoulême hills, the town of Fléac offers a pleasant setting to extend your visit after the market: walks along the river, exploring the town’s heritage, and hiking trails allow you to fully enjoy the area.
