    About

Billes de Choc is a young artisan chocolate maker based in Asnières-sur-Nouère, near Angoulême. The company is built around a simple, indulgent concept: combining dried fruit, caramelisation and chocolate to create small, crunchy and generous treats. In 2025, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Chamber of Trades and Crafts recognised the company as one of the ‘Artisans Gourmands de Charente’.

    History and origins

Billes de Choc was founded in 2024 by Rémi Marcillaud. The company is now run by Rémi and Manon Marcillaud and is based in Asnières-sur-Nouère.

The chocolate-making business is committed to an artisanal and inventive approach to chocolate confectionery. Rémi Marcillaud was also awarded the Young Entrepreneur Prize at the ‘Destins d’Artisans’ competition in Charente.

    The expertise

What sets Billes de Choc apart is its production of small chocolate balls combining chocolate and dried fruit. The hazelnuts, in particular, are roasted and then caramelised before being coated in chocolate. The products are handcrafted in the Charente workshop.

The range plays on contrasts: the crunch of hazelnuts or dried fruit, the caramelisation and intensity of dark chocolate, or the mildness of milk chocolate.

    The range

Among the creations on offer are:

    • Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Balls: roasted and caramelised hazelnuts coated in 70% dark chocolate.
    • Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Balls: roasted and caramelised hazelnuts paired with a milder milk chocolate.
    • Milk Chocolate Almond Balls: almonds coated in milk chocolate.
    • Milk and Dark Pecan Balls: pecans combined with chocolate.
    • Milk Chocolate Peanut Balls.
    • Dark Chocolate Raspberry Balls.
    • Rum-Infused Macadamia Chocolates.
    • Mixed Assortment Balls: an assortment allowing you to discover various combinations of nuts and chocolates.

Availability may vary depending on the time of year: some items may occasionally be out of stock in the online shop.

    The signature product

The Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Balls are a wonderful introduction to the brand’s world. A roasted and caramelised French hazelnut is enveloped in 70% dark chocolate. The result balances the bitterness of the cocoa, the sweetness of the caramelisation and the crunch of the nut.

Enjoy them on their own, with a coffee, or to round off a meal with a touch of chocolate. To discover a range of recipes, the Mix Multi allows you to compare the different combinations offered by the chocolate shop.

    The visitor’s experience

Billes de Choc sells its creations online as well as at markets and craft fairs. It is therefore particularly at these events that you can meet the artisans and discover their range.

Where can you find the products?

    The chocolates are available:

    • on the Billes de Choc online shop;
    • at selected markets and craft fairs.
