La Font Noire Cliff

Location and Access

Address: Soyaux, near Angoulême, Charente, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.
Directions: From Angoulême, take the D141 toward Limoges, then follow the signs for Soyaux and Antornac. The site is located behind the community gardens on a small road to the right, with a public trail leading to the base of the cliff. The site is relatively secluded and can be difficult to find the first time.

• Route heights: 6 to 15 meters with a variety of slabs and dihedrals.
• Rock type: compact limestone, featuring cracks, dihedrals, pillars, overhangs, and slopers.
• Number of routes: approximately 120 routes, ranging from grade 3c to 8a+, suitable mainly for intermediate and experienced climbers.
• Exposure and climate: Northwest-facing, providing pleasant coolness even in summer. Some routes are sunny in the afternoon.
• Equipment: bolted anchors for safety. A few unequipped belay stations may require long slings.
