Painted walls

The city of Angoulême, international capital of comics and image, had to give the city a comic book "image", without turning into a kind of "comic book land".

Starting with the city centre and the entrances to the city, the painted walls then spread to the districts. They are the subject of a tourist trail initiated by the Communication Department in collaboration with the City's Heritage Department.

In addition to this painted wall operation, more than a thousand street signs have been redone in the form of "bubbles" since 1997.
